Tokyo, April 30th (Reporter Zhu Yueying) - "Interpreting China in the New Era - Sino Japanese Scholars Think Tank Seminar 2025 in Osaka" was recently held in Osaka, Japan.
The seminar was hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in Osaka, the Asia Pacific Communication Center of the China Foreign Language and Culture Bureau, the Institute of Contemporary China and the World, and co organized by China International Book Trade Group Co., Ltd. and the the Belt and Road Japan Research Center. Xue Jian, Consul General of China in Osaka, Yu Tao, Deputy Director of the China Foreign Languages Administration, and Wanli Kaieda, Member of the Japanese House of Representatives and Vice President of the Japan China Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, delivered keynote speeches. More than a hundred experts, scholars, friendly individuals, young students, and media representatives from China and Japan attended the seminar.
Xue Jian pointed out in his keynote speech that today's China is moving towards a development path that benefits the people and is committed to win-win results in the world - Chinese path to modernization. To understand China in the new era, the key is to understand Chinese path to modernization. To view China from the perspective of development and innovation, to observe China from an open and win-win perspective, and to understand China with a global vision. In the new era, China requires everyone to personally explore and experience the diverse panoramic views. Only by witnessing and experiencing firsthand can we truly understand a China that is developing, innovative, open and inclusive, and has a global vision.
Yu Tao stated that China and Japan are close neighbors and important countries in Asia and the world. They need to practice true multilateralism, promote open regionalism, strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and provide more stability and certainty for the world. We should grasp the trend of the times and deepen our understanding of Chinese path to modernization; Expand pragmatic cooperation and promote common development between China and Japan; Enhance cultural exchanges and promote deeper and more practical people to people exchanges. We welcome more Japanese scholars, media people and young people to come to China to experience the development achievements of Chinese path to modernization, to promote the stability of China Japan relations with people to people connections, and to join hands to contribute oriental wisdom and strength to the prosperity of the Asia Pacific region and the peace and development of the world.
Kaieda Wanli stated that the friendly exchanges between Japan and China can be traced back to the Western Han Dynasty in China and the Yayoi period in Japan. Due to the different paths taken by each country, the most important thing for Japan and China in their exchanges is to uphold the concept of "harmony in diversity" and "seeking common ground while reserving differences". He called on Japanese parliamentarians to actually go to China and have direct exchanges with Chinese officials and ordinary people in order to better discuss China related issues such as trade with China. Only by conducting more active exchanges between Japan and China in as many fields as possible can we achieve peace and prosperity between the two countries.
Participants and scholars from China Japan think tanks conducted in-depth discussions on how to understand the connotation of Chinese path to modernization, grasp the opportunities of Chinese path to modernization, strengthen China Japan cooperation, and inject more stability into the world.
At the seminar, the Asia Pacific Communication Center of the China Foreign Language and Culture Bureau, the Institute of Contemporary China and the World, and the Japan Research Center of the "the Belt and Road" also jointly signed a memorandum of regional country research cooperation, aiming to provide a more diversified perspective and path for Japanese people and the international community to understand Chinese path to modernization through the establishment of a long-term cooperation mechanism.
